For the last unit and final paper You are to write a three page paper on the topic "Should women be registered for the draft and should they serve ". Take a for or against position and use quotes from the textbook on your decision making. You may use outside sources for your quotes. I want to see you defend your position on this matter. I want to see your use of your critical thinking skills. You may also put in a paragraph as to you or anyone in your family would or would not serve. There is no right or wrong answer.

  • Needs to be three pages.
  • Have someone proofread it.
  • Write a conclusion.

The law of the United States of America requires that men who are at least 18 years old
and below 26 years old to register through the process of Selective Service System (Spivack 31).
This will enable the activation of a military draft like the way it was used during the time of
Vietnam War. The armed forces, on the other hand, is always ready in obtaining and recruiting
new members to its forces through voluntary enlistment. Only the male people during that time
were recruited in the military of the US to protect the country against any external attacks.
The Supreme Court in the year 1981 ruled that women do not need to register in the
Selective Service System and so there was no need of drafting them. Due to this, the women
were not able to involve themselves in any issues relating to combat and military. Many
