Cultural imperialism refers to the promotion of a more powerful culture at the expense of
a more desirable culture which would be better for the society. Popular culture in most societies
are considered as more powerful and dominant than the other cultures, and in some cases, those
who do not subscribe to them are taken as outcasts and in some cases face hostility to the
