One of the mass media products is the Discovery channel which is a television network.
It is loved by many for its array of programs that target various audiences from kids to adults.
The programs include speculative investigation, pseudo-science, reality, documentaries for the
young people based on technology and automobiles, among others. This channel has increased
its media outlets through their website and previously a radio network which was carried by XM
satellite radio and Sirius satellite radio through these services were discontinued. Since it is
among the third widely distributed channels in the United States, a kid's projects mainly
concerning nurturing their talent would do quite well and it would receive a wide audience.
The kid’s project
This project will be in form of a competition where parents will have to apply for their
kids who have different talents. The contest would be fit to air on the Disney Channel and it
would have judges and facilitators who would assist the kids in improving their skills. Some of
the activities that would be contested would be cooking, art, acting, music such as singing,
dancing and playing musical instruments, gymnastics, and scientific inventions among others.
This would be a way of motivating the parents to discover their child's talent or even train them
to become gifted geniuses. Most parents don't know how to tap into their kid's talents, therefore,
this project would be helpful and the kids would get to self-explore, self-learn, and share their
ideas with the other kids. This would be a starting point for the kids to know how to think
rationally and develop confidence. This would also create a chance for any willing sponsor to
come in and offer their support so as to further assist the kids that would emerge the best. The
other kids would also be mentored further so as to help them perfect their talent through
workshops that would have training sessions. Many initiators that have come up with such
projects fail to follow upon the progress of the kids enrolled and eventually, the kids flop and go
back to the initial point because they forget whatever they learn easily. Since the Disney Channel
has a kids program, this would be learning forum and many kids worldwide would also grasp
something from the projected program.
The reason why Disney Channel has out-paced the other channels by being the best
Disney channel has managed to be an outstanding television network because they have
managed to increase their viewership to over 170 countries (Mjos, 2009). This means that it
reaches over 431 million homes. They offer the best of teen movies for instance, and one of its
greatest achievements is that the channel has managed to attract the millennials which are part of
their marketing strategy for their movie, adventures in babysitting. Their main agenda through
that movie is increasing the new generation’s audience with the hope of connecting with their
families and friends. The channel has also it has sponsored several events such as the bicycling
team in 2005. Also, another important aspect is that it offers 29 network brands and the
management has been in a position of offering their services in 33 languages. Not many
television networks have managed to do so since such a move requires a huge investment. Some
of the languages include Spanish, Arabic, Polish, Portuguese, Swedish, among others. In
Bulgaria, this channel has managed to include subtitles by all its capable providers. So at to
