As a counselor, being competent and familiar with risk assessment is essential to the therapeutic process; both in giving a client’s context related to treatment of their psychological symptoms and in helping the clinician prioritize short and long-term treatment outcomes. This assignment contains three parts, as identified and described below. Please complete each part with a combined essay.

Part 1: Write a 300-700-word scenario that involves a client that you believe requires a risk assessment.

Part 2: Write a 150-250-word summary, discussing specific behaviors that lead you to create a risk assessment.

Part 3: Write a 500-750-word summary, discussing how you would assess the client. Include the following in your discussion:

  1. Questions you would ask to determine the client's level of risk
  2. Protocol you would follow based on the client's answers, including documentation

A 30-year-old man of American origin is a client at a counselor office. The client
witnessed the loss of two close family members in two months. Client illustrated during the
beginning of the year plans were underway to take his daughter to school. Having found a new
job at a local investment bank through a competitive recruitment process, the client decided to
enroll in part-time classes to climb the career ladder. The client was married and was blessed
with a daughter. The client worked at McDonald before clinching a new job with better wages.
The client wife was a housewife who was committed to ensuring their daughter had the best
home care at early growth stages. Life was full of happiness with a new found job as the family
need was taken care of to attain quality lifestyle. On weekends the client would go for a retreat
accompanied by extended family members. The client managed to take care of aging parents as
way responsible child. Sustainable management of the client wage made life hopeful.
It was on Sunday morning the client was called to the emergency room that some of his
family members were involved in an accident. The call provided scanty details of the family
members involved only requiring him to report to the hospital. The client wife had left with his
daughter to visit the extended family and was expected back on a Sunday. Upon arrival at the
hospital, the client was informed one of his family members had succumbed to injuries sustained
