Introduction
Management and planning of innovation is an integral issue for business entities and
organizations who aspire to change in the market. Technology directly affects the performance of
organizations thus the importance of change to enhance interactions and communication. The
most significant way many organizations achieve this strategy in the contemporary society is by
the development of a technology roadmap. Alternatively, a technology roadmap helps an
organization to visualize in terms of planning horizons to provide room for the evaluation of
opportunities and threats (Caetano & Amaral, 2011).
The primary goal of a technology roadmap within an organization is to provide guidance
on technology development. However, for business entities and other organizations, technology
roadmaps serve a greater purpose. For instance, it converses the role of technology in promoting
the advancement of business goals, provides a framework of assumptions that a roadmap is
found on and explains how assumptions openly affect the order and rate of achieving goals.
More so, a technology roadmap recommends the impact of future technology and technology
skills required within an organization. While serving as a significant approach for organizations
and business entities in developing efficiency and effectiveness, technology roadmaps guarantee
meaningful and productive approaches to further business goals and objectives (James &
Heather, 2015).
Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to clearly discuss the development of a technology
roadmap for Dallah Hospital; a corporate private hospital with up to 400-bed capacity. It has all
main specialties amongst other subspecialties, inpatient and outpatient services, laboratory,
pharmacy and radiology services. Currently, the hospital integrates manual and electronic

medical records forms, owing to a huge influx of patients. Its system frequently produces
