How to do a case Study on Organizational Change
Question Description
I’m studying for my Business class and don’t understand how to answer this. Can you help me study?
Read the case study Change at DuPont from the end of chapter 7 in your text. Answer the following questions in a three- to four- page APA style paper; include outside sources to support your answers.
- To what extent are the following approaches to change embedded in the DuPont story (justify your answer, providing specific examples):
- OD
- Appreciative inquiry
- Sense-making
- In your opinion, how compatible are these three approaches? Why? What evidence is there in the DuPont story to support your answer? As a change manager, to what extent could you utilize insights from each approach?
- Imagine you are an OD practitioner brought into DuPont at the time of the Orlon manufacturing operation closure. Describe the steps you would take to help manage this change based upon action research.
- Describe a fictional large-scale change that could affect DuPont. You will address this change from both a problem-solving approach and an appreciative inquiry approach. You will explain the change to a group of DuPont employees from each approach (two different change explanations). Compare and contrast the steps taken in each approach. Which approach do you think would work better from the point of view of the staff? Why? How easy/difficult will it be to adopt this approach? What broad conclusions can be drawn?

Respond to questions in essay form. Please use APA format.CASE ANALYSISFred recently became a manager at a local hardware store that employs six managers and 55 nonmanagement employees. As new, larger chains such as Home Depot come to the area, the owner is concerned about losing many of his customers because he cannot compete on the basis of price. The management team met and discussed its strategic response. The team determined that the hardware store would focus on particular items and make personalized service the cornerstone of its effort. Fred’s responsibility was to train all nonmanagement employees in good customer relations skills; for that he was given a budget of $70,000. Over the past six months, Fred has received a number of training brochures from outside organizations. One of the brochures boasted, “Three-day workshop, $35,000. We will come in and train all your employees (maximum of 50 per session) so that any customer who comes to your store once will come again.”Another said, “One-day seminar on customer service skills. The best in the country. Only $8,000 (maximum participants 70).”A third said, “Customer satisfaction guaranteed on our customer satisfaction training for sales clerks. Three-day workshop, $25,000. Maximum participants 25 to allow for individual help.”Fred liked the third one because it provided personalized training. He called the company to talk about its offering. The consultant said that by keeping the number small, he would be able to provide actual work simulations for each of the trainees. He also indicated that he would tailor the simulations to reflect the hardware store. Fred noted that they would need two sessions and asked the consultant if he could take a few more per session to accommodate the 55 employees. The consultant agreed. The training went ahead, and the cost was under budget by $20,000.CASE QUESTIONS1. Do you agree with Fred’s decision to use the third vendor? Using concepts from the chapter, explain your answer.2. What else might Fred do before choosing a training package? Use information provided in Chapter 2 and 3 to describe your approach. Make sure to provide enough detail to demonstrate your understanding of the key issues and approaches to determining how to proceed once a triggering event has occurred.3. If training went ahead as indicated, how successful do you think it would be? Explain your answer using concepts from this chapter. (Thacker 147-149)Thacker, Blanchard &. files for the completion of this assignment. Label each file name
according to the section of the assignment it is written for.
Additionally, you may create and / or assume all necessary assumptions
needed for the completion of this assignment. Procuring
quality business requirements is an important step toward the design of
quality information systems. Completion of a quality requirements
document allows user needs and expectations to be captured, so that
infrastructure and information systems can be designed properly. Your
company, which is a data-collection and analysis company that has been
operating less than two (2) years, is seeking to create a repository for
collected data beyond standard relational databases. Your ten (10)
terabyte data warehouse is expected to grow by 20% each year. You are
mindful of data warehousing best practices which will aid you immensely
in your requirements gathering effort. Using the requirements document
provided in the course shell, you are to speculate on the needs of the
company. You must consider current and future requirements; however,
assumptions should be realistic and carefully considered. Section 1: Business Requirements Document Write
a four to six (4-6) page original business requirements document for
the project plan using the template provided. Note: The template is
provided under the Additional Resources in the Student Center tab of the
online course shell. Describe the project including the following: Describe and define the scope of the project.Speculate as to how to control the scope.Identify possible risks, constraints, and assumptions.Describe
the relationship and integration between systems and infrastructure.
Note: Database and Data Warehousing, Analytics, Interfaces and Cloud
Technology, and Infrastructure and Security should be considered.Speculate upon potential outsourcing or offshoring needs.Identify and justify the necessary resources including staffing that are necessary.Define relevant terms that will be used throughout project.Use
at least two (2) quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia
and similar Websites do not qualify as quality resources. Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements: Be
typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with
one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA
or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional
instructions.Include a cover page containing the title of the
assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title,
and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in
the required assignment page length. Section 2: Revised Project Plan Use Microsoft Project to: Update
the project plan from Project Deliverable 1: Project Plan Inception,
with three to five (3-5) new project tasks each consisting of five to
ten (5-10) sub-tasks. The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are: Evaluate
an organization through the lens of non-IT senior management in
deciding how information systems enable core and supportive business
processes as well as those that interface with suppliers and customers.Use technology and information resources to research issues in information systems.Write

Project Deliverable 3: Database and Data Warehousing Design Due Week 5 and worth 110 points
This assignment consists of two (2) sections: a design document and a
revised project plan. You must submit both sections as separate files
for the completion of this assignment. Label each file name according to
the section of the assignment it is written for. Additionally, you may
create and / or assume all necessary assumptions needed for the

is a necessity for contemporary organizations; however, data
warehousing has become a strategic priority due to the enormous amounts
of data that must be analyzed along with the varying sources from which
data comes. Since you are now the CIO of a data-collection company which
gathers data by using Web analytics and operational systems, you must
design a solution overview that incorporates data warehousing. The
executive team needs to be clear about what data warehousing can provide
the company. Section 1: Design Document Write a four to six (4-6) page design document in which you: Support the need for data warehousing within your company and elaborate on the best practices that the company will adhere to.Create
a schema that supports the company’s business and processes. Explain
and support the database schema with relevant arguments that support the
rationale for the structure. Note: The minimum requirement for the
schema should entail the tables, fields, relationships, views, and
indexes.Create an Entity-Relationship (E-R) Diagram relating
the tables of your database schema through the use of graphical tools in
Microsoft Visio or an open source alternative such as Dia. Note: The
graphically depicted solution is not included in the required page
length but must be included in the design document appendix. Explain
your rationale behind the design of your E-R Diagram.Create a
Data Flow Diagram (DFD) relating the tables of your database schema
through the use of graphical tools in Microsoft Visio or an open source
alternative such as Dia. Note: The graphically depicted solution is not
included in the required page length but must be included in the design
document appendix.Illustrate the flow of data including both
inputs and outputs for the use of a data warehouse. The diagram must map
data between source systems, data warehouses and specified data marts.
