According to Kramer, Wiewiorra, and Weinhardt (2013), net neutrality is a principle that
guides the Internet Service Providers (ISP) in providing the internet services to their clients. In
this principle, the ISP must treat all the users equally without discrimination in terms of user,
website, platform, and application. Under net neutrality, the network providers are not able to
slow down the speed for some sites or charge specific money for certain sites. The controversy
over net neutrality is that the internet providers do not see the need of it while the internet users
find it more useful to them (Peitz & Schuett, 2016). Disagreements come in as the principle
favors the internet users than the providers.
Importance of net neutrality includes digital rights and freedoms. The principle of net
