A 230000 kg railroad car moving at 5 m/s collides with, and couples to, a second railroad car moving in the opposite direction at 2.3 m/s. The combination moves off in the same direction that the second car was moving, but at 0.25 m/s. What is the mass of the second car?

m1v1+m2v2=(m1+m2)v

(230000x5)+(2.3x)=(m1+m2)0.25

57502.3=2.55x

x=22549.92 kg
