Major food companies mostly operate to make a profit. When they are allowed to make
government food policies, there are several things that might happen. First of all, there could be
vanishing of species. Since their major concern is profit making, the species that are more
profitable would be the ones that are mostly considered to be raised. In this book we see a major
concentration on corn farming.
Also, there is change of farm patterns. In order to maintain the high amount of nutrients, there
was systematic change from corn to legumes until there was now chemical synthesis of nitrogen
