What is your vision for social change? What outcomes would you like to see regarding the social issue on which you have focused during this course? What might you be able to contribute to the realization of those outcomes

My social issue is on Veterans

Develop a Final Presentation in the form of a PowerPoint presentation (a minimum of 10 slides, not including title page or references) or essay (3–5 pages, not including cover page or references).

Include the following:

  • Introduction
  • Summary of the problem
  • Potential solutions
  • Key actions that you as an individual can take
  • Objectives/desired outcomes of each action
  • Expected objectives for the immediate future and 5–10 years from now
  • Conclusion

The following should be evident in the Final Project:

  • Research (using sources to formulate the presentation)
  • Explanation (articulating the issue or problem to be addressed)
  • Analysis (looking at the connections between the facts and assumptions when discussing your issue)
  • Stance (taking a definitive perspective and calling for specific goals)
  • Understanding (acknowledging any counter perspectives or problems related to proposed solutions)
  • Implementation (listing concrete steps—both personal and collective—that might be taken to solve the problem)

For both the PowerPoint presentation and essay format, be sure to support your statements with APA Style in-text citations.

Social Issues facing Veterans

Veterans also called military veterans and men and women who have spent long periods
of service in the army and part of this time is spent at war or high conflict areas. Due to the
circumstances, most of them find themselves while at war and on their return to a non-military
environment they face some issues. The issues facing veterans can be broken down into three
aspects, and they are physical health issues, mental and emotional issues. Some of the conditions
that veterans are subject to as a result of their war activity include a decrease in self-worth,
inability to process emotions and in particular negative ones, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder) (Yehuda & Hoge, 2016), amputations and the pain associated with them, hearing loss
(Philpott, 2011)and problems with integrating with cultural norms and society. In discussing the
various ways social change can be affected, this paper will primarily focus on the social issues
facing veterans and how solutions can be implemented to help combat the consequences of these
issues on veterans.
Summary of the problem
According to the Statista, the United States had over 18.8 million veterans in 2015 with
the largest population of veterans living in California (facts, 2017). Although these men and
women are lauded for their courage and their sacrifice recognized by their communities and the
government, they are still subject to social issues. In summary, the issues they face upon their
