A buffet-style menu is usually the most common meal service whereby guests can serve themselves from the food stations set up or they can be served by servers stationed behind the buffet table. Most people think that it is less expensive but at the end of it all, it could be costly since one should set up a variety of foods to choose from. Additionally, it does not limit one’s capacity especially if no servers are available hence huge quantities of foods. Fewer servers are required in this menu style. Servers ensure that guests with allergy issues are attended to effectively. It also promotes interaction among guests. Sit down menu style is mostly formal whereby guests find food on their respective tables covered with foils to keep it warm. Three courses are usually served and guests get their food at the same time hence fostering interaction. Food costs will be lower since they will be predetermined based on the number of guests. However, it is costly since it requires many caterers due to plating and serving the guests. Persons with allergies and food restrictions will be disadvantaged since options are limited. Therefore, food wastage may arise since not all guests will eat the provided food. However, It is an emerging trend whereby guests are served with small food bites in lieu of sit-down menu service. as a wedding planner, It is commonly done on evenings and can be done by servers or guests themselves. It is a cost-effective menu service hence less spending. It promotes maximum interaction due to its casual nature. It is ideal with many guests expected. It could be confusing to first-time guests as to whether they are expecting a full meal. Mostly, drinking is vital hence costs of liquor in the budget could be high. Since guests are not seated, on the other way, they might find trouble following up the vents due to obstruction. Laying the Foundation Planning the ceremony whether religiously, civil way or traditionally requires wholeheartedness and consideration of close family members in the process. The ceremonies vary in the way they are conducted from one religion to another but a vow exchange is symbolical in them. Whereas it is important to allow all guests to sit wherever they wish for interaction purposes and seats balance, in my opinion close family members like parents and grandparents to the couple should have some reserved seats. Procession also differs from one religious faith to another. Some traditions are observed since they are believed to bring about good luck in marriage like, henna application, carrying a horseshoe, eye charms, 1001 cranes and kissing a chimney sweep. Photography and videography during the ceremony will act as a memory to the couple and family members of that important day hence the need to choose experienced personnel who is flexible. Surprisingly, photos of the bride should not be posted online until she walks down the aisle for the sake of the gown surprises. It is important to focus on proper planning of the menu since food remains a key subject in such events. In my opinion, the planning will depend on one’s budget, number of guests, space available and to some extent traditions of the couple. It is good to give guests a place to congregate to add taste and touch to the event. Music should be in such a way that it calibrates to the rhythm of the event form the beginning to the end but considerations should be observed as to what kind of music is allowed or prohibited by the church or the officiator. Alcohol and liquor could be included especially for tossing with friends in the evening at the cocktail party. However, it should be done in moderation to enhance positive interaction sessions as the guests dance. In my opinion, prior inspection of all the details regarding the wedding should be done to ensure that all is in place and avoid embarrassments during the big day. Surprisingly, planning a wedding such that it occurs during off peak seasons could cut down on the cost. The couple should ensure that the marriage is legal and binding by obtaining the required documentation from authorities. Cancelation or postponement of a wedding should be carefully thought through and all stakeholders notified early enough through a precise short message. It is important for the couple to thank all the stakeholders after the wedding through ‘thank you’ notes. It is disturbing that same sex marriage has been legalized in the United States such that it can be officiated just like any other form of marriage. Homosexuality being considered a crime in some parts of the world, it is essential for such couples to choose locality and destinations wisely. It is disturbing that during the bridal shower or bachelorette, some people could decide to overindulge in alcohol and drive. I think that this spoils the mood of the event and could set a bad footing to the big day hence caution should be observed.
