Childhood Maltreatment and Perceived Stress in Young Adults.
Hong et al. (2018) conducted a study exploring childhood maltreatment's long-term effects
on young adults' psychological well-being. The study included 814 participants between 18 and

Caucasian. All participants completed an online survey that included questions about childhood
maltreatment and various psychological measures. The results showed that those who experienced

those who had not encountered such abuse. Furthermore, emotion regulation strategies, selfefficacy, and stability were found to be protective against the adverse effects of childhood
