Since the inception of the Save the Children Foundation in 1919, the non-governmental
organization works towards assisting the vulnerable children in societies that experience frequent
humanitarian catastrophes in a mission to save the lives of the endangered kids, fight for the
children rights and support them in realizing their potential (Save the Children, 2017). Children
are highly unsafe in case of any form of humanitarian crisis, such as violence that results in
childhood hunger, malnutrition, improper health care, physical insecurity, and children
molestation (AbuZayd, Sullivan, Akram, & Roy, 2015). In this case, students’ service learners
would contribute positively towards attaining the mission of the foundation to protect vulnerable
children in the midst of humanitarian crisis by linking the academic learning such as
administering medicines and taking care of the affected infants to benefit the society.
