FORENSIC SCIENTIFIC METHOD
Forensic Evidence and Analysis
The scientific approach applicable for identifying and collecting various types of trace,
blood, and other biological evidence is forensic analysis, which compares anamnestic evidence
with observable physical findings within a crime scene (Nickell and Fischer, 2013). Forensic
studies occur in the crime laboratory and the autopsy rooms, and the resulting comparison of
findings helps verify if a witness or suspect is telling the truth from their accounts following a
crime. The forensic examiner or consultant first collects information about the actual incident and
obtains further information from witnesses and other sources. Consequently, the examiner can
make initial assessments of the reliability of the witness accounts. Afterwards, the individual
anticipates the questions that other relevant parties, including family members, health agencies,
law enforcement and the courts, can ask. Further, the examiner conducts scientific procedures,
which may include an autopsy, obtaining evidence from a crime scene, photography of the contents
of the view, or any appropriate forensic science analy...
