PepsiCo Inc is an American multinational company that has taken the market by storm regarding
beverages, food, and other products. The company has grown and made excellent strides due to its ability
to anticipate the future. It has designed products from time to time that meet the customer expectations
hence leading to increased revenue. However, this success has been because of better decisions,
investment opportunities, and innovative ideas.

Part A. Proposed investments for PepsiCo
Due to the changing market demand and consumer preference, PepsiCo should consider
investing a high percentage of its portfolio on the development of new healthy products and
increasing the market share of the healthy products already existing. Hence, this will affect both
its beverages and snacks product lines.
According to research, more people prefer taking healthy snacks to other snacks. Healthy
products can be essential for long-term growth since the company is looking for ways to make its
products much healthier. According to Euromonitor, the global sales of healthy products was
deemed to reach $1 trillion by the end of 2017 (Euromonitor International, 2012).
More consumers are shifting to healthy products due to several reasons. To begin with,
we have lifestyle changes. Consumers have started learning that improper dieting is a significant
cause of obesity hence more people are opting to incorporate new healthy habits by including
healthy carbohydrates and fats. Ultimately, this is an opportunity that PepsiCo can take
advantage of and generate a lot of revenue since by changing which consumer preference and
taste can be an added advantage.
Consumers now take a holistic perspective when considering products. Historically,
considerations on nutritional content was never a concern. Accordingly, this is because
consumers focused on single elements such as protein or sugar. However, recent data suggests



that consumer preferences have changed. Diets that focus on individual aspects regarding
nutritional content will be scarce within five years (Deloitte, 2016). Today, consumers tend to
