Introduction
Allen (2015) defines personality as the complexities of attributes which are possessed by
individuals such that these attributes define a person’s various characteristics. The basic
humanistic approach assumes that individuals are good naturally. Individuals interact with the
situation in different ways to shape their goals, feelings, behaviors and their thoughts. These
different ways include different responses people have in the same situation, whether the
situation chooses a person or it is a person who chooses the situation. Also, it depends on
impacts of different situations on the different parts of a person and whether a person changes the
situation or it is the situation that changes a person. Human beings are always likely to move in
the direction of their potential and act in their best interest or the interest of the community when
they are in a nurturing and enabling environment. Rodgers who developed person-centered
theory suggests that if a therapist provides an environment that demonstrates the concern for the
patient, then the patient is likely to grow into an effective, self-aware and a happy person
(McLeod, 2008). In his concept, Rodgers proposes that in higher development levels, people can
discover and accept themselves. Adjustment only needs to enhance the satisfaction of the people
and motivate them...
