Find the foci of the ellipse with the equation x^2/16+y^2/25=1

e= eccentricity of ellipse = focal distance/semi-major axis = sqrt(1-16/25)= sqrt(9/25)=3/5

semi-major axis = sqrt(25)=5 (along the y axis)

The ellipse is stretched vertically along the y-axis

focal distance from center of ellipse= 5*3/5=3

The locations of foci are then: (0,3), (0, -3)
