The Youth Firearms Violence Initiative (YFVI) was designed to aid in the agencies
involved in law enforcement combat fire-arms violence among the youths. In the year 1995, the
CPOS office provided funds to ten different police departments across the nation. The primary
focus of the funding process was to combat the rises aspect of gun-violence among the young
