Preparations before requirements kick-off meeting
Before meeting stakeholders and intended end users Software engineers are required to do some
preparations before the meeting. Identifying questions’ list, therefore, becomes a very critical part
of requirements gathering. A well-structured conversation always keeps your stakeholders on track
whenever some tries to digress off the topic.
Targeted questions are necessary to the project with a well-defined scope. For a project that has
not been scoped yet the following questions can help scoping:
What is the problem to be tackled by the project?
The problem refers to the driving reason towards the launch of the project. Defines an existing
anomaly or difficult that needs to be solved to increase efficiency and satisfaction as well.
What does the solution look like?
This question intends to find solutions to an already defined problem. Asking people who
encounter the problem nearly all the time may help in tackling the problem to a solution.
