Culture is a widely accepted and used method by a group, and the persons in that group live
according to the beliefs, behaviors and values of their organization. The culture is passed from one
generation to another. Culture helps a team to be systematic, follow a clear path of living while limiting
the way of doing things. Cultural Imperialism is defined as a way a foreign culture, which considers itself
superior, asserts its power over a native one. It promotes dominant values, practices, and structures and
results in the loss of the indigenous traditions. Western Cultural Imperialism is therefore agreed as the
way in which the western culture exerts its pressure socially and economically on non-western parts of
the world (Said, 2014). To be more specific, the American consumer culture has dominated the rest of the
world in what is commonly referred as Americanization (Lazere, 2017).
Technologies, which include television, radio, and computers have transformed the society. The
American media has shaped and molded the community. Many countries, especially, the eastern and
developing countries have fallen victim of the western culture, wh...
