Which expression defines the given series for seven terms?

8 + 13 + 18 + . . .
May 16th, 2015

It is an arithmetic series:   a(n) = 8 + (n - 1)(5)

where "n" is the term number.  So, for example, the 20th term would be:  a(20) = 8 + (20 - 1)(5) = 8 + 95 = 103.

Hope that helps.
