The influence of the media on political election campaigns
Media is a major source of information. In this case, media comprises of both
mainstream and online media and information sources. Media has been known to have a
major influence on the decision and perception of the general population. One of the key areas
that where consumers rely on media is in making decisions regarding elections. However,
while a section of the society agrees that media has a major influence on the decision of the
consumers due to the information that it provides, another section of the society argues that
media only serves as a source of information but has no influence whatsoever on the members
of the society. In this paper, different sides of this argument will be analyzed so as to enable
the author come up with a reliable conclusion on the topic.
