10. Acceleration is sometimes expressed in multiples of g, where g=9.8m/s^2 is the acceleration due to Earth's gravity. In a car crash, the car's velocity changes from 32m/s to 0m/s in 0.15s In terms of g, what is the average acceleration of the car during the crash?

0 - 32 / 0.15 = -213.33 m/s^2

-213.33/9.8 = -21.77g

wrong :/

How is it wrong? What's the answer then?

May 17th, 2015

hahaha i dont know the answer thats why im here but in my options i only have

26 g

15 g

22 g

29 g

Oh, you didn't offer choices. Then obviously it's 22g. Just round the 21.77g.

May 17th, 2015

i dont put the choices cuz... i want a real answer ... not ppl just guessin

By the way. Technically it should be NEGATIVE because the car is DECELERATING. But your book isn't making that distinction. So, just go with the absolute value, which is 21.77, which rounds off to 22.

If you don't give the choices, then you have to at least tell the person to round the answer to the nearest whole number. My answer was 100% correct. If I was told to round off the answer, then I would have said 22g.

but u said that it was negative , man whatever thank u thoe,

When you take physics, they'll teach you that deceleration is negative acceleration. But don't worry about it now.
