Recently, organizations are adopting a wide variety of techniques, approaches, models,
and systems to control their daily operations. A particular method might work for one
organization and fail for another. For instance, some organization has adopted hierarchical
approach while others have chosen decentralized approach to control their activities. Both
approaches accrue benefits to the organizations which have implemented them. For example, in
the five-star case study, the organization has adopted a hierarchical approach in regulating its
operation. This method of control defines explicit rules, procedure, and policy to monitor
employees’ behaviors in the organization. In this approach, control is based on centralized
authority, close employee supervision, and formal hierarchy. Besides, the culture of the
