Probation Program
Probation refers to the suspension of a jail sentence that allows the defendant convicted
of a crime to remain in the society instead of being imprisoned (Brank et al 2008). In most cases,
courts impose probation sentences under certain conditions as well as circumstances. The
defendant must meet all the requirements that are put across by the ruling judge. According to
Lane et al (2005), in case of violation, the defendant may be jailed or the probation period may
be extended or a substantial penalty epoxied. The judgment depends on the violation ion
committed. The following scenario is a case of Mr. Miller who committed a crime during his
violation period. The paper will outline his profile, recommended probation plan as well as how
the probation program will be utilized to relate recidivism in Louisiana.
