5d+4h = 15.50

4d + 5h = 16.00

To eliminate d, multiply eq.1 by 4 and eq.2 by 5      {Hint: LCM of 5 & 4 is 20}

20d+16h = 62

20d + 25 h = 80

Subtracting  eq 3 from eq4,

9h = 18

h =2

Substituting 'h' in eq.2 we get,

so d = 16 - (2*5) = 16 -10 =6

so h +d = 2+6 =8

Please let me know if you have any questions and best me if you are satisfactory.
