To determine when both colleges will have the same enrollement we have to solve A(x)=B(x)

A(x)=B(x) <=> 27,800-550*x=14,900+900*x

<=>27800-14900=900*x+550x

<=>12900=1450*x

<=>x=12900/1450

<=>x=8.9

for x=9 it means in 2009 A(x)=22,850 and B(x)=23,000

The enrollment will be pretty the same and starting from 2009 the enrollment at college B will be greater than the enrollment at college A.
