The enrollment at A was 27,800 students in 2000 and declines by 550 students each year since then. The enrollment at college B was 14900 students in 2000 and increases by 900 students each year since then.
Let's call x the number year since 2000, A(x) the enrollment of students at A and B(x) the enrollment at college B

Use your model to predict when both colleges will have the same enrollment. What is the enrollment?
Predict the years when the enrollment at colleges B will be greater than the enrollment at college A.
To determine when both colleges will have the same enrollement we have to solve A(x)=B(x)
A(x)=B(x) <=> 27,800-550*x=14,900+900*x
for x=9 it means in 2009 A(x)=22,850 and B(x)=23,000
The enrollment will be pretty the same and starting from 2009 the enrollment at college B will be greater than the enrollment at college A.
