A competitive advantage is any activity or engagement that places an organization or individual
in a favorable position compared to its peers or rivals. When an organization trains its
employees and develop their skills, it empowers them with additional knowledge on how to
perform their duties more professionally while utilizing the shortest period. This aspect in turns
contributes to high-quality goods and services or reduced costs of production which a new
competitive edge for the business. Regular training of employees also contributes to an
increased technical expertise of employees which builds their confidence in executing their
daily responsibilities (Goetsch, & Davis, 2014). As a result, minimal supervision is required to
ensure efficient service delivery. It also boosts employees’ morale because they can perform
their duties with skill and confidence as well as enjoy some level of autonomy while at it.
