A distribution center is a warehouse for the set of products or a specialized building that
is equipped with air conditioning or refrigeration and used to stock products (Higginson, &
Bookbinder, 2005). These products are then distributed to the wholesalers, retailers, or even
directly to the clients. A distribution center plays a vital role in order processing element; thus,
often referred as being demand driven. Distribution centers in supply chain management are also
referred as a warehouse, package-handling facilities, cross-dock center, and fulfillment facility.
