When the chemical salt such as magnesium nitrate goes into a aqueous solution it a)dissociates b)ionizes c)oxidizes which one is the correct answer to this question? I think it is b) ionizes Can someone please help me out here?

The formula of magnesium nitrate is Mg(NO₃)₂. When it goes into a aquaeous solution, it provides Mg2+ and 2 of NO3- which are ions.

Ionization is when a molecule becomes charged due to the loss or gain of electrons. 

Dissociation is when a molecule breaks down into smaller parts - these smaller parts could be ions
