(125 x^6 y^1/2 ) ^2/3

May 18th, 2015

Hello! Hope this helps :)

For exponents, you can distribute the outer exponent (2/3) by multiplying it to each of the individual exponents in the parentheses.

First, rewrite 125 as 5^3 to make simplification easier.

={(5^3)*(x^6)*(y^(1/2))}^(2/3)

This shows each part to make it easier to follow:

5^(3*(2/3)) = 5^2 = 25

x^(6*(2/3)) = x^4

y^((1/2)*(2/3)) = y^(1/3)

Now these are multiplied together:

Answer: 25 * x^(4) * y^(1/3)

Please let me know if you have any questions :)
