2NH3 + 2O2 --> N2O + 3H2O we need to compare moles of reactants and products. remember 2g H2 = 1mole yet 2g O2 = 0.0625moles. we need to convert mass to moles and then compare moles of the 2 components. 80g O2 / 32g/mole = moles O2 reacted = 2.5moles O2 the molar ratio of oxygen to dinitrogen oxide = 2:1 so for every 2moles O2 used, only 1mole N2O is produced. 2.5moles O2 ( 1N2O / 2O2 ) x molar mass N2O = mass N2O2 produced 2.5moles O2 (1N2O/2O2) x 44g/mole = 55 g N2O produced
