the curve y=5x^2 meets x=1 at (1,1)

now the volume of cylinder is pi*r^2*h

=pi*1*1=pi

volume of the semi-sphere is, (1/2)*[(4/3)*pi*r^3]

=(2/3)*pi*1

=(2/3)*pi

the volume of the result is pi-(2/3)*pi

V=pi/3

May 20th, 2015

volume of parabola is (pi/2)*h*r^2

now y=5x^2 and x=1 then the radius is 1 and the heght is y=5*(1)^2

height(y)=5

V=(pi/2)*5*1^2

V=(5*pi)/2
