Calculate the concentration of OH- ion in a .15 M solution of NH3. The base dissociation constant for ammonia is 1.8x 10^-5 .

NH3+H2O = NH4+ + OH-

equilibruim concentratio of NH3 is 0.15 - x.

NH4+ and OH- concentrations are equal to x.

Kb =  [NH4+][OH - ]/[NH3] = x^2/0.15

x = sqrt(1.8x 10^-5 * 0.15) = 0.0016M

answer is [OH - ] = 0.0016M
