Cognitive abilities and personality traits are important in improving and measuring
employee’s performance and future prediction on their job activities. Some of the most common
cognitive skills include the ability of one’s brain to remember, read, learn, reason and pay
attention. They take information and process it to make meaningful decisions. On the other hand,
Performance management process involves identifying, measuring employees work progress and
developing the performance of employees on individual levels and aligning their performance
with the set company goals and objectives (Tett, 2011).
