xy-5y=2x+3............factor out y 
y(x-5)=2x+3...........divide by factor of y 
y = (2x+3) / (x-5) 
f(x) = (2x+3) / (x-5) 

Domain = {x | x ≠ 5}...since x=5 would cause division by zero 
interval notation (-∞, 5) U (5, ∞) 
Range is the set of output values that result form all input values in the domain. 
The maximum of the range is infinity because as x approaches 5 from the right, f(x) approaches infinity. The minimum for the range is negative infinity because as x approaches 5 from the left, f(x) approaches negative infinity. Because f(x) is a rational expression you need to check for horizontal asymptotes which could cause holes in the Range
