1) How companies, like Pandora, use marketing to improve customer satisfaction and
loyalty
The most significant factor in business in the present world is arguably customer loyalty.
According to Thompson (2015), it leads to more chances through the word of mouth and brand
mulligans for the little issues that occur during the daily running of a business as well as bringing
repeat business. Big companies like Pandora have improved their customer satisfaction and
loyalty through establishing a relationship at a personal level with each individual customer
through having representatives for each client. This has enabled their clients to develop a mutual
relationship with the company that is beneficial and thus remained committed to their brands
(Thompson D. 2015). Additionally, being an international company, it provides music and other
media related services that are relevant to the location. Listening to its customers and giving their
taste is also another way in which Pandora and other companies are able to use marketing in
improving their customer satisfaction and loyalty. When listened to, customers feel valued and
therefore remain committed to the specific brand.
2) How GE unified its various brands under one marketing umbrella
Marketing Umbrella is the practice of bringing a whole line of products into one brand
for the purposes of marketing and messaging (Your Business). GE is a company that deals with
kitchenware and it has been playing a very significant role in ensuring that its respective brands
are unified. Specializing in kitchen brands was a strategy by the company to attract many women
who are likely to get into a position to dance to their tunes based on the levels of their price
(Influential Marketing Blog, 2014).The products that GE settled for included microwaves,
dishwashers, and refrigerators among others. This was a strategy by the company to attract
potential customers to other products as they came to purchase the already available products

with low prices. These kitchenware products were usually centrally heaped together which made
the potential customers to be spoilt for choice (Influential Marketing Blog, 2014). This left the
customers unaware of the steps to take and ended up buying even more. GE fully embraced this
strategy or rather technique based on the issue of marketing umbrella and therefore the unified
brand as the outcome.
