How do I simplify a factored equation when there is nothing to cancel on either the denominator or the numerator

then the equation is as simplified as it is going to get.

example: (x^2-1)/(x^2-x-6)

to simplify into factors,

(x-1)(x+1)/(x-3)(x+2)

then the equation is completely simplified.

you can send an example if you have one
