In the contemporary learning environment, self-efficacy and self-regulation are an
essential ingredient and predictor; this is according to Bandura's social cognitive theory point of
view. Bandura argues that self-efficacy determines whether an individual or a student will be
able to cope with behaviors and how long the effects of the behaviors can be sustained in the face
of problems. Bandura asserts that an individual with high self-efficacy will put sufficient efforts
which in turn enable him/her to achieve successful outcomes. On the other hand, low selfefficacy leads to little effort which in turn results in low outcomes.
