The papers prompt/question is, What, in your views, represented the greatest challenges and opportunities for what is usually called the Maghrib (or western part of the Muslim world) from the eleventh century down to the fourteenth century? Discuss why.

Introduction
The term Maghrib Muslims is used predominantly by Arab Muslims to refer to the region
starting from Alexandria, which is located in the east and moving down to the Atlantic Ocean. It
is a region that is dominated by Muslim communities and is one of the most significant areas in
the history of the Muslim communities. The Maghrib Muslims occupied an expansive piece of
land that started from Alexandria and moving into the modern day Tripoli before running down
to the Atlantic Ocean. While there is a plethora of challenges that the groups faced in their
lifestyles, many opportunities could have been exploited by the people to improve their lives.
The following is an examination of the challenges that the groups as well as the opportunities
that existed for the Maghrib Muslims between the 11th and the 14th century.
The opportunities for the Maghrib Muslims
Primarily, during the period between the 11th and the 14th centuries, the Maghrib
Muslims were so powerful that they conquered the regions in which they had set their sight
