Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder refers to a chronic condition that affects many
children around the world. This disorder can persist into adulthood. This disorder is associated
with a combination of problems such as impulsive behavior, hyperactivity as well difficult
sustaining attention. Hypersensitivity refers to the condition whereby a person feels excessively
sensitive either emotionally or physical response. Children who are faced with this disorder have
low self-esteem and usually have troubled relationships with the people around them. These
children also have a poor concentration in class, and this causes poor performance in school.
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is of three types (Campbell, 2000). The first type is called
the predominantly hyperactive-impulsive. Symptoms of this kind of disorder are characterized by
hyperactivity-impulsivity without inattentiveness. The second category of this disorder is called
predominantly inattentive. This type of disorder affects children in such a way that the child feels
