How do you use the decision-making in your role as a manager?
I use decision making in planning how to achieve the departments objective, solving conflicts
among employees, assessment of techniqual breakdowns, development of safety plans, hiring
and dismissing employees, training of employees, purchasing new instruments, calling for
departmental meetings and in the engagement of employees.
•
What role does contingency planning play in your role as a manager? How do you apply
critical thinking to contingency planning?
Contingency planning helps me to prepare for risk occurrences in the department maintaining
Safety of employees and preventing machine breakdowns. In the recent past, I have been

develop solutions.

What roadblocks do you encounter when trying to apply creativity to your decision-making
process?
In the application of creativity to decision making the major challenge that I encounter is that
employees are less active in brainstorming activities since most of them seem comfortable
with the old solutions and are a bit reluctant to change. Another major challenge is that in my
department most new ideas involve change of the technical layout like machinery hence the
process of initiating new ideas is limited to the technical workability with the current
operations hence the actual decision making is delayed.
