Diversity initiatives that reduce risks in human service
Diversity initiatives have been increased in an attempt to reduce risks associated with
human service organizations. To begin with, on the diversity initiatives is the fact that everyone
has an opportunity to get a job and a promotion in their respective workplaces. This is
irrespective of their religion, gender, disability, race and even ethnicity. The overall determinant
of getting a job are qualification, experience and be competent. This motivates employees toward
their workplaces. Furthermore, the companies and organization keep on reaffirming the
principles of inclusiveness in the course of working. The principles are put into action. The
principles aim at taking care of employees, promoting tolerance and respecting the opinions of
employees. This makes the employees strong and reduces stress and emotional distress in their
workplaces (Wentling, Rose, and Nilda, 2000).
Moreover, organizations should resource groups for people from various cultures to have
regular events. Such events are meant to ensure that there advocacy and advancement of
diversity awareness. This makes people within the workplaces to be appreciating diversity and be
conscious of diversity. More so, organizations should enhance training the employees on cultural
sensitivity and address unconscious bias. This attempt tends to cultivate a culture of respect
based on diversity of workers. Lastly, organizations improve and enhance diversity by engaging
in practices such as recruiting, partnership and providing scholarships (Wentling, Rose, and
