Introduction
Neurocognitive Disorder: It is a term that defines decreased functions of the mind. This
could be because of a medical illness or another psychiatric disease. (“Neurocognitive
disorder,” 2017). For diagnosis, there are 3 categories; delirium, major, and mild. The category
of Major and have a larger influence on the individual is capable of maintaining normal
functioning along with acquired abilities for everyday life. Mild disorders, on the other hand, do
not impact everyday functioning as bad but still need clinical attention.
Neurodevelopmental Disorders: defined as a group of disorders that manifest in early
childhood. This is a very complex process and is something that is affected by genetics and
environmental factors. These disorders can affect the patient emotionally, financially, and
mentally. They affect the patient by needed special educational steps, medication, or therapy.
Even though most are able to find the blame for these in genetics or environmental issues, there
are still some questions about the unknown variables that cause these disorders.
Autism Spectrum Disorder
In 1943 Leo Kanner described a young boy with symptoms of those, unlike other
children which he encompassed as the Kanner’s syndrome which is was originally entitled
autistic disturbances. Then in 1944 Hans Asperger also described a boy with much more severe
variations of the same issues which were originally called autistic psychopathy in childhood.
