Whenever I start creating a presentation, I always think of the content that I am going to provide and also a design that really catches my audience's attention. Since I have already noted the content that I will putting on my presentation slides, I start by laying out my slides by putting only the titles/headers first. Then I usually add images that I will select to be sent to the back so that it is behind all of my text and I change the opacity so that it is somewhat faded, but you are still able to see what the image is. I choose an image that is related to the information on the slide or the entire presentation. This way, my presentation slides are not boring or too plain. Then that is when I start adding all of the information onto each slide and then after that I start adding transitions or animations to my content. MS PowerPoint is definitely my favorite within MS Office.

You just want to be careful not to overwhelm your audience with too many design features making your presentation too busy or even tacky looking.
