Business-level strategies
It incorporates actions by an organization in creating competition advantage regarding
market growth. Typically, business strategies vary with the size of the company where large
companies have or use more strategies than a start-up. Large corporations have more functional
departments compared to the Small medium enterprise (SME). Importantly, as indicated by
Grünig & Kühn (2010), business-level strategies are geared towards improving the company
operations but more so focus on fulfilling customer needs and wants. In this regard, Gateway
Fast Foods will incorporate business-level strategies in its overall operations. The first strategy
will include coordinating departmental activities. Ideally, the company will be departmentalized
into various functions including human resources, finance department, marketing, procurement
& logistics and managerial department. Each section and the department will be managed and
supervised by strategic personnel. The coordination of each department will enhance smooth
operations.
The second business-level strategy by Gateway fast Foods will be human resource
department as a functional department of the organization. Ideally, human resources play a
greater role in steering company progress. At Gateway, the human resource will be responsible in
selecting and recruiting employees and overall management of company workforce. The human
