Chapter Reflection
The chapter is about research on teaching in physical education. The framework that
guides the chapter was developed to organize research reports into classifications that will be
compressible to readers, maintain some connecting sense between research questions and forms
of inquiry, and display main inquiry topic. Physical education is a course taught in school that
aims at developing physical fitness and the ability to perform and enjoy physical activities.
Students acquire necessary skills required in participating in activities such as soccer, basketball,
and other activities. Physical education enables students to be physically and mentally active.
The study of teacher characteristics presents a vast area of doing research considerably
focus change. Even though the research literature in the 1970s contains studies that relate the
teacher`s personality with the learning of students the findings have been inconclusive, varying,
and insignificant. The Dunkin and Biddle model of 1974 that has been widely referenced as a
way of research classification no longer enough to talk about the studies involving the

characteristics of teachers. Recent studies have not relied much on psychometric instrumentation
and relied more on interviews and other data collection methods related to qualitative research.
