various social and economic transformations a fact that has also contributed to the
sporadic rise in income inequality. Regarding the population of the country, it is
imperative to ascertain that the population of the country is rising at a faster rate as
compared to, other countries. Research studies have also evidenced that the aging
population of the country is on a dramatic rise (Zeng & Wang, 2014).
The one-year child policy and the enhancement of healthcare services in the country
are some of the factors that have contributed to the rise of the aging population in
China. Ideally, this is because such aspects have resulted to the increase in life
expectancy a fact that has also led to the decline of birth rates in the country. This
population trend has posed significant challenges to the country since the economic
development of the country is dependent on the demographic composition of the
