The presentation should discuss the student’s understanding of a film of her/his choice focusing on the meaning they created.
The presentation should focus on the below elements
- Explain the various perspectives from which the film can be understood and analyzed.
- Conduct analysis of the most important elements in the film including, language, image, editing, sound effect, lighting, cadre etc., and how all of these elements lead to the creation of certain interpretation/s.
- Identify different possible levels of meaning for the film and elaborate on at least two of them.
- Analyze your own environment and how it affects your reading of the film. Reflect on issues related to your background, experiences, or psychological, educational factors that have potentially influenced your reading of the film (meaning construction)
- Analyze your own social position (role and place) and its impact on your understanding of the film (social class, age, gender, income, ethnicity, ideological orientation, etc.)
( BEFORE CHOOSING A FILM WAIT FOR MY ACCEPTANCE) When you choose the film you must consider your choices very carefully. As you are responsible for choosing a film that can be read on various levels and that you can personally relate to. Your selected film should enable you to respond to each one of all of the above questions in considerable depth.
The presentation should be:
- Engaging 3-5 minutes presentation, presented on time, includes multiple analytical skills and outstanding in detail and brings in-depth analysis of the film and its messages. Presents a profound reflection on the personal understanding of the film and the variables that have impacted this understanding the meanings created. An excellent use of classroom (ML) terminology and learned analytical skills.
