Executive Summary
Intuit’s point of sale software product is QuickBooksPOS. There are a number of
problems facing the company today. These problems are the loss of the company’s customers to
new competitors, limited capabilities of the QuickBooksPOS software due to emerging customer
need/wants, noncompetitive pricing of the company’s products, and delay in the provision of
customer support services. If not addressed, these challenges can lead to the collapse of the
company.
One action item in the recommended plan of action is the development of a new
marketing plan that details strategies that will help Intuit regain and dominate the market.
Another action item is the updating of the QuickBooksPOS software to include the needed
analytic capabilities. This will help satisfy the new consumer need. A third item is lowering the
product’s price to the level that key competitors are offering their products at. This will help
increase the company’s competitiveness in the market. Finally, the company should add more
customer support specialists. The reason for adding more support specialists is to minimize
